Broom is a common bush on the south coast. It has very beautiful yellow flowers.

Salmon Berries are tasty but unfortunatley do not grow in abundance.

Black berries are the very best of all the berries that grow on the south coast. They are very sweet and tasty. Good for pies.

The forest floor is usually covered by Salal, which have many berries, which are not so tasty, and by Sword Ferns, usually found under trees.

Thistles, prickly as they are, grow in open spaces.

Bullrushes grow near fresh water and sway in the wind.
