| Mosaic - Works of art made up of numerous tiny pieces of stone or glass, held together by cement. Mosaics were and still are used to decorate indoor walls and floors and outdoor walkways. The word mosaic is derived from the Latin Word Mosaicum and the Greek word Mouseion which mean "of the muses" or "work of the muses". This work was given this name because mosaics were often dedicated to the muses. |
