| The Vatican Museums is one of the largest collections of artwork and antiquities in the entire world. These museums are enormous and are divided thematically, according to the type and period in which each object was produced. These images are taken from the section on liturgical art. There is a fine example of an enamel cross, whereas most of the other images shown here are early Christian ivory sacred art - such as an icon and a chalice. |
