During the Roman and Byzantine eras in Tunisian history, mosaic decorations for floors and walls was extremely popular. As well, especially during the Christian era, tombs were often decorated with mosaics, such as the Chi Rho image below. Other popular images include hunting scenes, images from Classical mythology, such as Ganymede above, or animals. |
