Here you can find some of the finest ancient archaeological remains from prehistoric, Phoenician, Hellenistic, Roman, Persian, and Byzantine periods, in places such as Palmyra. There are also some of the finest examples of crusader castles, and Arab bazaars and citadels. Besides this, it is a beautiful country. |
